Moving your data to Azure
Before the arrival of cloud providers, firms were often keeping the bulk of their data in on-premises data centers, which hosted servers running database systems such as SQL Server and MongoDB. In a modernization effort, it can be necessary to move the data centers to Azure, if possible with minimum downtime and minimum headaches... In this session, Laurent Bugnion, a Cloud Advocate for Microsoft will help you understand what data options are available on Azure, and learn to know migration options with demos, both for unstructured data (files, blobs…) as well as for databases (SQL and NoSQL). We'll use a managed service called the Database Migration Service to migrate an on-premises SQL Server database to Azure SQL DB with minimal downtime. We will also see how you can take advantage of Azure Storage to migrate large files to the cloud. You will come out of this session with a deeper understanding of data on Azure, and what benefits you can get for your modern applications.Details
